About Grace

Grace is a composer for film and games and a technical audio designer. 

At age 7, Grace embraced the violin as her first musical instrument, laying the foundation for a lifelong relationship with the world of sound. Later in her teens, Grace was offered the opportunity to play bass guitar for her school’s swing band, which started her interest in other instruments and music technology.

In 2018, Grace's musical journey took an exciting turn as she delved into music technology at the University of Huddersfield, where she earned a Bachelor of Music in Music. Here, she unravelled the intricacies of digital composition and production, discovering a newfound passion that would shape the next chapter of her musical life.

This journey began at the University of Chichester, where she earned a Master of Arts in Composition for Film, TV, and Games. During her time at the University of Chichester, Grace had the honour of learning from some of the most respected composers in the country. Under the guidance of Stephen Baysted of Project Cars, she absorbed invaluable insights that continue to shape her approach to composition. Additionally, Grace had the privilege of shadowing the likes of Matthew Slater during his recording processes, gaining hands-on experience in the intricacies of bringing music to life.

Using her love and talent for music production, Grace decided to learn how music was placed within games; this exploration evolved into becoming a Technical Audio Designer and Composer for the indie game studio Old Man Studios. Grace has had the privilege of crafting sonic landscapes that breathe life into virtual worlds, adding a unique auditory dimension to the gaming experience.

Grace has an abundance of knowledge in writing for many music genres, including pop, rock, orchestral, epic hybrid, horror, emotional and synth. Grace focuses her lesson on the Garage Band and Logic Pro X software.
