Apple have just announced it’s new music streaming service named Apple Music at its yearly conference WWDC.
The new service similar to Spotify will be launching June 30th in 100+ countries and has all the songs on iTunes available for streaming. Like Spotify, you will also be able to store songs on your device for offline playing with a subscription. The good news for Android users is that there will be an app coming in the autumn.
The cost is $9.99 in the US so I imagine it will cost about the same as Spotify in the UK which is £9.99 a month. Apple is offering the first 3 months for free as well as a family subscription which costs a little more but allows for 6 people to use the service at once.
Built into Apple Music are two other feature, the first is a service called Beats 1. Beats 1 is an online radio station that broadcasts 24 hours a day with DJ’s such as Zane Lowe, Ebro Darden and Julie Adenuga. Also the Connect service is a place for new and established artist to connect with fans.
