On Tuesday, 28th March 2023, Apple released a music app dedicated to classical music. They call it………….Apple Music Classical.
The app is free to use and download, provided you are an Apple Music subscriber. It boasts the largest classical music catalogue, with over 5 million tracks available at launch.
If you are new to classical music, Apple has created a hand-picked selection of curated tracks to help you get started. For people more familiar with popular recordings, they offer more curated playlists to help you take the next steps in your discovery of classical music.
Apple Music Classical features lossless audio of up to 24 bit/192 kHz across their services, meaning users can hear all the subtle nuances in every performance.
Apple Music Classical is currently available on iPhones running iOS 15.4 and later and will be “Coming Soon” to android phones.
There is no native iPad app at the time of writing, but you can download the iPhone app and use it on your iPad.
Currently, you also can not download tracks to your device for offline listening, which is a bit of a shame. But there is a way to get around this while we wait for Apple to enable saving offline. Click Here to find out how!
This is a pretty solid first version of a new app. Apple will undoubtedly work on new features over the coming weeks and months.
