Wirral Bass Lessons
Wirral Music Factory is delighted to announce that we are now offering Bass Lessons to students of all levels. Wirral Bass lessons are all held at Wirral Music Factory HQ, based in Birkenhead, Wirral. You will be learning with our Bass tutor, Chris.
What Will I Learn in the Bass Lessons?
At Wirral Music Factory, we aim to be as student-led as possible in your bass lesson. We aim to encourage and develop the talent and passion you already have for your Bass. If you want to learn and work through your bass grades, we can guide you and show you the bass techniques and methods that will enable you to sound great. Whatever you want to learn in the bass lessons, we are here to help. Some areas students focus on include:
- Bass Soloing Techniques (Modal scales, Arpeggios, Chord Approaches, Intervals)
- Learn Bass Grades
- Learn songs
- Bass line development and structures
- Improvisation and Playing Techniques (Finger Plucking and accuracy, Picking, Slap Bass, Harmonic Playing)
- Music Styles
- Reading Music & Theory
- Playing Bass with a band
Where Are the Wirral Bass Lessons?
All Bass lessons take place at Wirral Music Factory in Birkenhead. We have all the amps needed for your Bass lesson.
Who Are Wirral Bass Lessons For?
Bass lessons at WMF are open to all ages and all abilities — from complete beginners picking up the instrument for the first time, to experienced players wanting to push their technique further. Younger students, teens, and adult learners are all welcome. Whether you are learning bass as your first instrument or coming to it after years of playing guitar, we will meet you where you are.
What Styles Can I Learn?
We cover the lot — rock, pop, funk, blues, indie and jazz are all on the menu. Chris has played professionally across the indie and pop scene (including with Cast and John Power of The La’s), so if you are learning to play in a band, write your own lines, or just nail your favourite songs, you are in good hands. If you are more interested in walking bass lines, reading dots, or jazz feel, Chris can take you there too — he holds a First Class BA Hons in Popular Music and has perfect pitch.
Do I Need My Own Bass Guitar?
It is always best to bring your own bass — you will progress much faster if you have got the instrument you practise on. That said, if you are just starting out and do not have one yet, we have a studio bass you can use during your lesson. Bass amps are provided in every lesson room, so there is no need to lug an amp across Wirral.
