These terms apply to all lessons booked with Wirral Music Factory (referred to here as WMF, we, or us). By booking a lesson you agree to them. If you have any questions, email us at help@wirralmusicfactory.com before booking.
1. About us
Wirral Music Factory provides 1-to-1 music tuition at Unit 26, Price Street Business Centre, Price Street, Birkenhead, Wirral, CH41 4JQ. All enquiries: help@wirralmusicfactory.com.
2. Booking and payment
Lessons are booked through our website and paid for at the time of booking. We accept payment by card (via Stripe) and PayPal online, and by card machine or cash in person. There are no registration or materials fees to book. Your booking is confirmed by email once payment is received.
3. Prices
Lesson prices start from:
- Single 30-minute lesson: from £16
- Single 60-minute lesson: from £30
- Block of 5 × 30-minute lessons: from £75
- Block of 5 × 60-minute lessons: from £140
Each of our tutors sets their own rates, so the exact price depends on the tutor you book with. The price for your chosen lesson or block is always shown before you pay. Prices may change from time to time, but any lessons or blocks you have already paid for are unaffected.
4. Taster lesson
New students can take a 30-minute taster lesson for £7.50 by entering the code TASTER at checkout. The taster is limited to your first lesson only and one per person.
5. 5-lesson blocks
Blocks must be bought as a bundle of five — five separately booked lessons do not qualify for the block price. A block can only be used for the instrument it was bought for, and with the same tutor you bought it from. All blocks and prepaid lessons expire 180 days after purchase. A block is non-refundable once purchased, except where you cancel within 14 days of purchase and have not yet used any of the lessons (see section 7).
6. Cancellations and rescheduling
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
- 24 hours’ notice or more: you can reschedule, or (for a block) the lesson is returned to your block to use again.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice, or a no-show: the lesson is charged in full or counts as used and cannot be recovered.
You can manage a booking through your account or by emailing help@wirralmusicfactory.com within the notice window.
7. Refunds
- Single lessons: refundable if cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Requests go to help@wirralmusicfactory.com.
- Blocks: refundable only within 14 days of purchase and only if no lessons from the block have been used.
- Refunds outside these terms are at our discretion.
8. Late arrivals
If you arrive late, the lesson still finishes at its scheduled time and the missed time cannot usually be made up, unless your tutor is able to offer it.
9. If we cancel a lesson
If a tutor has to cancel, we will carry the lesson forward to another time. Where that is not possible, the value is credited against a future lesson. Make-up lessons are offered when WMF cancels, not for student cancellations.
10. Lessons
All lessons are 1-to-1 and run for 30 or 60 minutes. Lessons are student-led and adapted to each individual — there is no fixed curriculum. Lessons are in person at our Birkenhead studios; online lessons are available in some cases. Handouts are often provided; any books or materials a student needs are bought by the student.
11. Students under 18 and safeguarding
We welcome students of all ages. All WMF tutors are DBS-checked. A parent or carer is welcome to sit in on any lesson. Bookings for a child should be made by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on the child’s behalf.
12. Conduct and right to refuse service
We want WMF to be a safe, positive place to learn. We reserve the right to refuse or end service where behaviour makes that difficult, giving a refund where appropriate.
13. Instruments and belongings
Please look after your own instrument and belongings while at WMF. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property except where caused by our negligence.
14. Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how we use it.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website at the time of your booking is the one that applies.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
